I’m Dina and I'm a multidisciplinary artist. Exploring many visual languages, I stay curious and hungry to do more and learn more. I was always told by many and for so long to stick to one thing and do one thing really well, but in my opinion no one's opinion should matter. Do whatever it is that fills your cup and keeps you thrilled.
I'm an actor, model, photographer and painter. I have dabbled in sculpting and hope to write/direct some day.
I never had a classic training or education. I’m self taught and with that comes a lot of challenges because so much is unknown, but I guess that’s also what’s really satisfying. You figure it out along the way accepting the mess and the challenges.
Expressing who you are and your unique individuality makes you creative.
I feel like nowadays more people are dabbling into the creative side and it's inspiring to witness.
Being alone by the water.
I'm really passionate about acting. Ever since I was a little girl I loved to perform. It's the scariest and most challenging one too. So much of you goes into it - so much discovery. I had a lot of rejections when I was younger with my language barrier, and built a lot of fear around acting. The last 3 years I really recommitted to the craft and learned so much about myself I didn’t even know existed within me.
I learned to trust the process of things and accept the messy parts of life. From rock bottoms there is a chance to build new foundations.
There is so much I don’t understand and I don’t think I need to have all the answers. There is so much beauty in the unknown. I think that’s what keeps me creating. In a way I create my own reality where maybe I feel secure and like I'm covered by a warm blanket where the fear of not understanding things doesn’t really scare me as much anymore. I think the way the world functions isn’t fair and I'll never understand that but sometimes taking it all in and being so empathetic gets really hard and heavy.
Everyday!!! And I will. I think the more I continue to develop my practices it will naturally evolve into being one.
I was a gymnast for 12 years - ballet and dance was my background growing up. I find when I let my body lead and trust its intuitive moves I give a lot of freedom to my work instead of overthinking or planning it. So yes, I do feel like I am having a dance with the canvas and becoming one.
Real connections. Whether it's within myself, my work, or others.
The voice of an angel :)
